Single Post Message is a perfect tool for adding small messages that show above (or below) a post, highlighted in an yellow bar (configurable via CSS).

These messages can be formatted via HTML and can be used to show extra information like updates, warnings, newer content on the site regarding the same topic, etc..

Updates added via Single Post Message also show up via the RSS feed as well.

Installation:

Unpack and upload it to the /wp-content/plugins/ directory.
Activate the plugin through the 'Plugins' menu in WordPress.
